Rail Reconditioning
Reconditioning used rails is environmentally friendly, and it makes good economic sense too: reconditioning costs are significantly lower than purchasing new rails.
Disused rails are usually far from having reached their wear lifespan. Normally a new 60E2-profile can be milled into them without any problems
After being straightened, the used rails pass through a battery of tests like visual, ultrasound and eddy current inspection. Subsequently they are reprofiled and, depending on customer requirements, welded into lengths of up to 180 m. Of course we also include transitions and insulated joints in reconditioned rails according to customer needs.
Finally the reconditioned rails are delivered reprofiled, straightened, tailored to the right length, welded and thoroughly inspected.
