Semi-Stationary Welding

Besides conventional stationary welding, Vossloh Rail Services also offers a semi-stationary welding plant that can be set up exactly where and when it is needed. Semi-stationary welding offers the advantages of mobile flash-butt welding, combined with stationary straightening and grinding technology to produce welds meeting the highest quality standards. This allows short rails to be combined into long welded rails as close to the construction site as is convenient. Rails ranging from 15 m to 120 m may be welded into 400 m long rails.

The semi-stationary welding plant is typically used in major and/or long-term construction projects, or if transporting long welded rails from a stationary welding plant to the construction site proves to be prohibitively expensive or physically impossible.
